During a panel discussion of Pres. Donald Trump’s lack of self-control on Twitter, CNN commentator Angela Rye took former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (R) to task.

During a discussion of the attack on a Canadian mosque, Santorum tried to excuse Trump’s habit of tweeting before he knows the whole story by saying, “It should not be a surprise that presidents or anybody is not going to tweet out things that don’t necessarily fit with the narrative that the administration is trying to put forward.”

“Pres. Obama didn’t comment about shootings of non-colored people?” asked CNN political reporter Jim Acosta. “I remember him being very vocal on Sandy Hook.”

“Well, that was a mass school shooting,” Santorum said. “I’m talking about…I’m talking about…look, you know as well as I do, Jim, that when there was white on black crime, the president was all over it and when there was a black on white crime, that was simply not the case.
